My name is Gretchen
I’m a small town country girl born and raised on the island of Oahu, in North Shore Haleiwa! I’m drawn to the sound of waves crashing onto the shoreline, the smell of the salt air, roosters crowing at the crack of dawn and the vibrant sunsets in our beautiful Hawai’i.
I picked up photography as a hobby while raising my two children and working a 9-5 for a construction company boxed in an isolated office all day. My daughter loved playing dress up and model while I practiced taking her headshots, senior photos, even maternity photos. Eventually, I broke free from my small town and decided I needed to see what the rest of the WORLD had to offer.
My husband and I have had wonderful opportunities traveling the world. I’ve climbed to the top of Machu Picchu, looked down from the tippy top of the tallest building in the world of Dubai, had champagne at the top of the Eiffel Tower, fresh made gelato on the coast of Italy, fed bananas to monkeys on my honeymoon in Bali, watched sunsets from rooftops in Santorini, Greece, ate authentic Mexican tacos & salted rim margaritas in Cancun, and even slept with the fishes beneath my bed in the Maldives!
I want to experience salt air and vibrant sunsets from every corner of the world!
If there was one thing I know in all my travels… I wanted to remember and live in these moments forever. I often reminisce with my photos and re-live these memories over and over! The feelings of nostalgia… I can hear every sound, I can smell every smell, taste every taste. I remember the feeling I felt, the excitement, the love in the air and in life itself!
